If Noah was wise..........

He would have left behind those two little flies!

I know ridding the campground of flies is impossible, but what tricks have you found work best in keeping them at bay when enjoy Gods green earth?!?!

We camp in Pennsylvania a lot and the Amish farmers use natural fertilizer from cows. Flies can be a problem if it's nearby. We use good old fashion fly paper. Haven't found anything to beat it yet.

Thanks, now I'm going to have to explain the need for yet another purchase, as if camping wasn't expensive enough already.

Flies can get up through the camp grounds sewer... make sure you don't camp with black tank open. Also, have a trash can with some sort of lid and put food items that go in the trash in a walmart bag and tie the bag shut before dumping in the closed trash can. When I full timed, it didn't take long to figure these things out as the cabin would get gnats otherwise.

We used to stay at CG that was next to a chicken farm. After a few years we realized if our entrance faced north we had very little flies but the south (sunny) side had them. One year when I requested a north facing site the desk agent said "Oh, the chickens are gone. We don't have the fly problem any more." I guess I was not the only one who figured out that the flies did not like the sun.
Now these were house flies ....... deer flies and green heads love the shade and human blood.

You can use them at home too

A friend invested money in the company and they sent him 2 pre-sale units... I got one

My grand son left it outside and the humidity, possibly the sprinkler system, rusted the hinge on the salt compartment door and it broke.

I picked up a replacement at Cablea's, for $39.95 and it works great too.

Cheap fun if you ask me and it gets rid of bugs.

[QUOTE=wiredgeorge.. make sure you don't camp with black tank open. .[/QUOTE]

You should NEVER EVER camp with your black tank valve open whether for the weekend or seasonal.
If worried about "sewer" flies or other critters then you can drop a sag in your sewer hose forming a P trap.
