Adjusting cables on slide

We have a 2015 Laredo 295 sck, this morning when we were getting ready to leave for a camping trip, the cable system for the slide with the dining room table broke and the motor and gear housing partially came off the wall. On closer inspection it appears one of the cable stays was missing a bushing so the cable was able to work it's way out of the stay. This caused the entire cable/chain system to come off the gear housing on top of the motor. I was able to reassemble the cable and chains and tighten down the motor and gear housing so it works. Does anyone know how to adjust the cables so the slides closes properly. Currently the wall nearest the door does not go out all the way and the wall nearest the back of the 5th wheel does not come in all the way. Thanks for the help.

Welcome to the forum

There are 4 cables, 2 for extending and the other 2 for retracting.

The adjustments are at the ends with the threaded rod and nut. I can't remember off hand which are which, but I found this link:

This situation has crossed my mind since I also have cabled slides. If a cable were to break with the slide out and that cable could not be fixed on site, how would one bring that slide back in?

If one of the retract cables broke, I suppose one could push on one side while some else ran the motor.

If you pull the the cover off on the slide (thats the wood panel usually with 4 screws) inside the Trailer there might be instructions on how to adjust them like mine. The panel hides the cable system, and usually where you would attach that flexible allen tool that came with your RV in the event the slide motor goes bad, so you can bring the slide back in.
