Generator

I do not use the A/C at all up here in Wyoming, so with being said what is the smallest generator I can go with? Iam looking into buying me a Kipor 3000 watt for the 5th wheel.Has any one used a 2000 watt?

If you are not going to use the A/C a 2000 should do the microwave alone. Don't microwave and try and use a hair dryer with it. Would probably pop a breaker.

Yea that was what I was thinking the 2000 will do till the Microwave goes on...No A/C will be used...Even in the summer the nights get into the 50s up where we are at. Iam thinking the 3000 will do fine.

You will be fine with a 3000w generator which should be able to run 1 A/C if you need to - but nothing else. Two considerations about a 3000w generator: 1) the increased weight and 2) the increased noise. If you are able to move a larger and heavier unit around without any problem and have a place to store it while on the road, that won't be a concern.
A 2000w would be sufficient for non A/C use providing you realize its limitations with respect to the number of items it can run at any one time. It will be somewhat lighter, more quiet and more convenient to pack around and store.
If you can find a quiet and reasonably light 3000w, that would be my choice.

I vote for the 1 - 2000W due to noise. I have 2 - 2000 Hondas and only need to run both if I need the A/C. Otherwise the single unit can do it all.

I have a friend that has a 3000 watt Kipor that he might sell and I also have another friend that has a 2000 watt Kipor that he wants to sell...The 2000 watt he is asking $350.00 for it.
The Generator is more to make coffee in the morning and run lights at night maybe the T.V. for my 7 year to watch at night time if he wants....

raycan2 -
If making coffee, watching TV and having lights on at night are the extent of your requirements, then the 2000w Kipor at $350 (or less) sounds like the way to go.

We've two older model Yamaha 2400is generators and can gang them together. Although I bought the kit, I've only used it once as one will run the AC (barely) by itself. One will also run the microwave OR the coffee maker although I have had the TV, surround sound, fireplace (on low) and several lights on all at once. I picked them as they're the largest capacity that I can still lift. They're very quiet and don't use much gasoline.

Are they inverter type or normal open frame where you can see the engine? Here are some highly recommended new generators with free shipping. The inverter units are very quiet.

2000 watt inverter $600
3100 watt inverter with RV 30 amp plug $900
3500 watt standard with RV 30 amp plug $350
3500 watt standard with remote start and RV 30 amp plug $540

We had a Honda eu2000i we used for just what you say you need and it worked perfectly low on fuel and extremely quiet. We switched to a Honda 3000 for the remote start and found it is actually more quiet than the old 2000...go figure.
