Clunking sounf from under the trailer

We have a 246rbs. When I make a tight turn, there is a loud clunk. It seems to be coming from the underside of the trailer near the two axles. Is this normal or might I have a problem?

Is there just one "clunk" or a series of clunks?

Are you sure it's not your WD hitch? If not that look at your equalizers between your springs. Some creaking is normal but very loud noises should be checked.

gregsimard, Howdy;

May also want to check the hub nuts for each wheel...
Or pull the wheels and check the brakes for proper mounting
and security...
Hope it's only something simple...

Recently I was at a professional trailer hitch business (Hitch Pro and Tow, Eugene, OR) to have my hitch reset for my new trailer. While they were maneuvering my trailer around with their tractor, no WD hitch attached, my Bullet 284RLS made those popping noises in the area of the axles. I asked the manager who was standing there if that was normal or not and he said it was. Note, also the WD hitch (EZ Lift with bars) will make noise also.

PS, a little plug for Hitch Pro and Tow, very professional, I was very pleased with their work. Have heard nothing but good comments from others also.

Sounds like your hitch, a sound can be thrown around to make you think it came from somewhere else

Grease the knobs on the WDH bars at the hitch. Cuts the clunkin down considerably.

It could be normal and it may not be. Sometimes axles and springs make noises when making tight turns and these sounds are normal unless there is something broken, IE, spring, shackle, axle bolts, wheel bearings. You are going to have to look it over to determine if everything is in its place, tightened to spec and nothing is broken.
