Midwest Waterfront Site

I am sure some people will not want to give up their secret spot but...

What are the best waterfront campsites in the Midwest? I camp Lake Shelbyville a lot and Lone Point campground is lake front but not ideal. It has big drop offs and washed up shorelines.

I realize this is a southern location but stayed at Brady Mountain in West Central Arkansas, Site #45, last year and it was the most beautiful site we have had to date.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Not sure where in IL you are, but the Campground at Smithville Lake outside of Kansas City is awesome.

Midwest

Take a look at mill creek COE on Table rock lake. It is 20 miles from Branson and has some sites right on the lake with almost no drop off. Very nice blacktop sites with water and electric. 13 miles to Silver Dollar City.

Places we have stayed on or near water:
Castle Rock RV (just north of St Ignace Michigan)
Browns Landing (8 mi. south of Tawas City Michigan, Tawas SP looks good but was full when we were there.)
Vineyards RV in Grapevine Texas. Very nice operation and a piece of relative calm in a large urban area.
Safe Harbor RV, NAshville Tennessee. A child could throw a stone into the water from where we stayed-but VERY expensive.

One of my favorite spots is Kentucky Lake. Many beautiful spots from the Alabama border all the way up to Ky. Land Between The Lakes has campgrounds that are well kept. Might be something to take into consideration.

I'll second that Rick!
We stayed on the Ouachita River at Catherine's Landing.
