No outside speakers?

What we do to enjoy RVing.....drove 4 hrs to a dealer in upper NY state and 4 hrs home Sunday to take a look at a Montana they had in stock. Turns out this amazing camper has no outside speakers. Really? I love sitting outside with music on to relax to. I'm not one to play it loud and disturb others.....

I'm really disappointed. Anyone know why they didn't put speakers outside on the Montana?

Did you look at the awning arms? I'm seeing outside speakers in the heads of the awning arms now.

I just PDI'd a Grand Design Reflection with an LCI awning today. I had to look for them when I turned on the O/S speakers.

The other tech did a Fun Finder last week (Cruiser RV) with an LCI awning, and you guessed it, speakers in the arms.

I can't say I like the idea, but then I'm not invited to design meetings LOL.

Wouldn't bother me if none of the trailers had outside speakers.. pretty much the first thing I do when we get a new trailer is disconnect the outside speakers..

We love music and enjoy listening to it; but don't expect others to have to listen to our choice.. If we want to listen while sitting outside it's easy to use headphones from our devices.

Agreed... Its amazing how loud some folks "quiet" music can be. Especially when the neighbors are only 20 feet away.

I always worry about the neighbors. I enjoy listening to music while relaxing in my lounger with a cup of coffee in the morning, but I don't enjoy putting my hearing aids in, so I quit listening to music and just relax in the "quiet" morning air and watch nature.

Outdoor Speaker Solution...

I know this doesn't solve the problem, but a great altenative that I use is the wireless Jawbone Big Jambox speaker. Using bluetooth on your phone you will get concert quality music that you generally don't get from camper speakers. Just a thought....

I agree, the outside speakers don't seem to last anyway. How does the wireless Jawbone Big Jambox speaker compare to the little Bose I wonder. Been thinking of getting one for ours too.

I run a 5.1 computer surround sound - and XM radio. But I have a big property parked full time so I don't bother people ....... (unless I want to)

Couldn't agree more, Javi. We go camping for peace and quiet. Never fails..someone near us can't survive unless they crank up the tunes..sub-woofer..gangsta rap..of course, we live in CA

Hmmm Maybe I should say that I like classical music. There's nothing more "stimulating" at 5AM than a good rendition of the William Tell Overture broadcast over the campground to drown out all of the generators..... That, along with warming up the diesel while the dog barks his "tunes" to the music and does his "business" on the next door camper's patio..... Oh what a beautiful morning.....

Built in outside speakers? We don't need no stinkin' little speakers built into the camper, they are NEVER loud enough !!!!!

Now, where's my coffee and morning newspaper??????

When we bought our Big Sky in 2013.....one of the things I craved was outside speaker. But it did not come with any. So seeking other alternatives we found the Bose portable player for IPODs.....very good sound and with the rechargeable battery could go all day without being plugged in.
Then for a Birthday gift.. I got one of the Bluetooth set ups....I think it was a JABA.....(cost was about $100) plays thru any Bluetooth phone. We have used it more than the Bose system. With good quality sound.
So technology helped solve my problem.
As to keeping the volume down.....I agree....any unit should be for soft background music. Not have the whole park over for a party!

We love the outdoor speakers. Have them on low most of the time. Much quieter then the dogs barking and kids screaming at the trailers around us.

I think it was like our first trip in our new 2011 Cougar HC, we were insside on a rainy night and decided to watch a movie. I hadn't figured out the A B C speaker selection switch on the Jensen yet. Well, around about 10 PM there was a loud knock on our door. By the time I got up to check it there was no one there but the sound of our movie was blasting over the outside speakers! Crap!! How did the rest of the campground wait so long to come quiet us down. Deb and I felt so badly.

Anyway, I learned which speakers worked on which setting real quick

We don't use our outside speakers either. I have a Sony xplod boom box with an auxiliary jack for the ipod. Has cd and cassette along with fm radio so we have the best of both worlds. Keep it next to us with the volume low and never had a problem. Biggest problem with the outside speakers is they throw the sound away from the camper for everyone else to hear.

I like it both ways. Plugged in with a full hook-up at a nice peaceful park somewhere by a lake or river, maybe do some fishing.
Or I go out into the woods where there is nobody around for miles and at dusk crank up Hank III, let the dogs loose, throw a chunk of magnesium in the fire , get out the AR-15 with tracer fire and cut a dead tree in half.
Either way I'm drinkin beer!

Javi you are the bomb! Thank you for being respectful to others. That is a huge complaint my wife and I have when camping. Why do people feel they have to destroy quietness and sounds of mother nature.

BTW the outside speakers in the awning arms SUCK!! I know from the one time I turned them on at home.
