We've taken the plunge

Last week, we were the winning bid at our local credit union repo auction. We now have a 2017 Passport 2450rlwe sitting in our driveway. This was no spur of the moment purchase. Last year, we bought our tow vehicle, a Ford eco-boost F-150 with the tow package. This last summer, we got our feet wet by renting an R-pod trailer for a week. We discovered what we wanted and what we didn't. Our Passport matched all our must-haves and even gave us a bit more. It is absolutely clear of corrosion, the underside is insulated and the frame is aluminum as are the wheels. The trailer looks to have been originally purchased in Las Vegas which would explain the slight sun exposure and the dust found inside. It doesn't look like it was pulled much... just enough to get it up to the Pacific Northwest and not much more. The credit union cleaned it but they couldn't get everything. It also had pets but that is ok as we have a couple of our own.

The trailer has been winterized... at least that is what I thought when I saw the pink stains in the toilet and sink... I have a couple months to tinker with it... finish gluing the shower surround to the wall, clean out the A/C, fix curtains and blinds, test systems, etc. Looking forward to putting it through its paces around the end of March. A couple trips are planned in April and May before we start using it for the reason we bought it: TRIPS TO THE COAST!!!

Congratulations and welcome to the forum! There is a lot of great information in this forum so don't be a stranger and catch up on your reading. It will help you as you learn how to use your trailer.

Welcome!
Sounds like you've found a gem of a deal. We love exploring the pacific NW. You're sure to have a great time with the new Passport.
See you on the road.

Taking critters camping kind of makes our trips! Hope your critters like travel. Couple things I would think about; crawl under the sinks and make sure the pex connectors are tight. Take a look at the back of the water heater. There IS a bypass which is located between the cold in and hot out. The valve should be shut; that is, turned sideways to the pex. If not, hopefully they didn't fill the hot water heater with the anti freeze stuff. You may also want to make sure all the radiator clamps are snug on the drains where the drain hose connects (ours were all loose). Last, take a look at the tires. Do some research and if they are C load rated and one of the "china bomb" variety mentioned frequently on this forum, do some research and decide if tires are in your budget. Anyway, welcome!

since you will be working on it before going on any trips, check everything, run all the water things, the heater, lights etc. since its not that old, the brakes should be ok, but still check the tires and bearing....On the tires, since it came from LV check the side walls for cracks, Dry heat will do a number to the tires...Welcome and Good luck

Congratulations on your new to you TT.
Just a question are the Passports built with aluminum frames or are you referring to the superstructure?

Do you get air out of the vents in the ceiling for the AC or the Vents for the Heat out of the floor.

We get a little out for heat but nothing for the AC, Lazydays can't figure it out, and gave up.

Check the date codes on the tires. Replace the tires if more than three years old no matter how good they look. The tires that manufacturers use on campers are junk.

Welcome

We have a 2450RLWE also and love it. We purchased an enclosure for the awning which creates a nice outdoor room, especially when the northwest weather doesn't work out as planned. Don't let the "All Season" moniker fool you into thinking it is insulated well underneath, while the coroplast enclosure is nice there isn't much more than that. I am planning to insulate mine better and check the heat ducts for proper connections and no kinks. If the 2017 still has non-led lights inside that is an easy upgrade. I also changed out the bathroom sink faucet and the shower head. If there is anything I can be of assistance to you let me know and hope you enjoy your new trailer.
