Stabilizer for 5Th Wheel
Not sure how to post but here goes. I purchased a Andersen 5th Hitch assembly. Looking for a stabilizer with ball to connect to the puck assembly on the pintail on the 5th wheel hope I'm clear with my question...Thank you
The hitch I'm using is the Ultimate Bed mount

Skip the pin box stabilizer and get get some JT Strongarms far better!

Agree! The pin box stabilizer is heavy, awkward & hard to store for the very little bit it helps. Had one & gave it away!

The one I see on internet bolts to the landing gear. I have auto level system no place to attach

I'm using the BAL Lock Arm to stabilize my landing gear...works great. It bolts to the landing gear, but it doesn't offer any resistance to the landing gear when it's loosened (same as the JT Strongarm). For me the tricky part was finding a place to attach the inner brackets. I had to reinforce the floor of my front storage area. However, the front-to-back stabilizers mounted right to the frame.

Last year after setting up in Florida we wanted to add something that would increase the stability so we opted for a HD tripod for the 5th wheel. Night and day difference. A lot of the improvement comes from this being a heavy duty tripod, it is a beast. I looked at several low cost, light weight ones and knew they would never work. If we do anything more we will add some small tripods on each side of the rear frame. There is about 12 ft. of trailer unsupported beyond the rear jacks. We also use scissor jacks between the wheels.
Sometimes the negative voices drown out the positive ones.

JT Stongarm all the way! I have 4 point auto leveling and it connects to the bolt that connects the round foot pads. The video I watched said if you have the six point hydraulic then you might need to bolt to the foot pad itself with an additional purchased adapter.

I like the pin box tripod it stabilize the the fiver good and takes weight off the landing gear and supports the bed room area.

Had one, didn't do much for bounce or wiggle. Installed J.T. Strongarms and bounce and wiggle gone!

Waste of Money
I've had several 5th wheels and being snow birds we lived in them 3 to 6 months each year. I found the Tripods for the pin box to be a waste of money. They just did not do the job. My latest 5th wheel has 4 point auto levelers and is stable as a rock. Nothing else needed no sway at all. very stable.

I'm in the process of making my own system for auto-level, but currently this is my poor man's set up. All on its own it significantly reduces trailer rocking while inside, and it cost about $40. I Just installed a cargo pole diagonally from one front leg to the other.

I got a much better test of it this weekend while we camped. It does help quite a bit (IMHO), but i found that it possibly reveals the 'sway' in other areas. But I think with likely no more labor than it would take to install one of the really nice systems, a person could install a couple of brackets and these poles in a few strategic locations and get probably 80-90% of the benefit for a 25-35% of the cost.
It's an on-going experiment at the very least.

We installed the Steadyfast stabilizer system on my last two fivers. My current has the six point hydraulic system and my last was a four point electric. Both were triple axle toy haulers. The Steadyfast removed roughly 95% of the felt movement on both. Steadyfast is a three point setup. Total cost to my home was less than $400.00. Took me one afternoon to install.
