Dometic refrig will not work on 120.
Have a new Passport 190ML with a Dometic frig. Planned on going on a shake down run to a local state park. Turned the frig on 120 volts, will not cool. Works good on gas. Checked power at frig plug, ok. Checked 12 volt input, ok. Checked fuses on frig circuit board, ok. Checked fuses and breakers in trailer, ok. Any ideas before having it repaired at a service center.

First off, are you plugged into shore power? If so then turn it on AC, give it about 10 minutes. Then take the lower access panel off. On the right side should be a large “tube”. The heating element is in the center. Being careful not to get burned, feel the stack about 1/2 way up. If it’s hot/warm then the fridge is working. Takes quite a while for the fridge to cook, even longer on AC.

Plugged into home (15 amp). Unit was on all night, not cold. Heating element not hot. Has check light on.

Turn fridge off. Leave off for 10 minutes and try again. If it doesn’t start to cool then it probably needs a control board.

You're plugged into a 15 amp circuit? On that small circuit are you sure you haven't already tripped the breaker it's plugged into? In other words is there 120 volts to anything in the rv? May have tripped the GFCI also.

Everything else works fine. Installed a Progressive Ind. HW30 and readout shows 123 volt, 60 htz, 1 amp draw and no error codes. Frig was cold when I p/u trailer. Must have been running on gas.

If I understand what I think I've read, there's AC to the trailer. There is AC at the plug for the fridge. The fridge works on LP but the status light shows an error when switched to AC. You checked the fuses on the control board and they are good. Sounds to me like it's the control board.

Like Chuckster said, make sure it is either selected to AC or AUTO. If it's still set to gas and the gas is off, no bueno. Watch it for awhile. If the Check light comes on, shut it down wait a few minutes and start again.
You have gas on and can light all your burners, right? It may need a purge out of the lines, and the procedure outlined will accomplish that.

I think I have tried every way possible. LOL Just going to use gas this trip and get it repaired after. Curious to know how much gas these refrig use. Thanks all.

They dont use a lot. If you top off a bottle, you'll be safe for both water heater and fridge use.

A typical 2 door refer will run about 30 days on a 30lb bottle if it’s the only LP appliance being used.
