311 RE Electrical Issue

I’m all new to the camper world. I purchased a 2018 311 RE with intentions of living in it part time. Finally got the 50 amp service in place and plugged it in,. There is no electricity in the camper. It has been plugged up with an adapter to keep the fridge on. Any ideas what the issue may be??

I'm guessing you have a 50amp plug installed at home? Is the breaker on?

Yes, it was done professionally by an electrician and is on. He’s coming back to check it again tomorrow.

By hooked up with an adapter I'm guessing you mean connected to a 15 amp outlet. If that's the case then the issue would have to be with the 50 Amp outlet. Hope you get it fixed tomorrow.

More info would be good. 50A service. Is that what they put in at your service point? Plugged up with an adapter to keep the fridge on? What does that mean and what is the "adapter?. Power is pretty simple. Do you have the voltage at the ped? Does it make it to the trailer? Are all the breaker in the proper position? If you NO power you've missed something in the chain.

Did the electrician wire up the outlet for 50A for an RV or 240V as used for a clothes dryer? A lot of electricians do not know how to properly provide for 50A RV power.

Your trailer is 50 amp and if you wired in a 50 amp outlet at the house, you shouldn't need an adapter to hook it up. A little more info and maybe some pictures will help out.

Welcome to the forum also.

If your new 50 amp outlet is not wired just like in this pic it will not work on the RV. The fact you used a separate 15 amp feed to power fridge while waiting for electrician sounds like no issues with RV.

Also you need to check operation of the converter because if he wired it to 240 you have most likely smoked he converter. A quick check at the battery looking for 13.4 volts or better while plugged into hat 15 amp service will telll you if it’s ok.

Additionally anything that powers up in AC , like a microwave when you plug into shore power needs to be checked to make sure it didn’t get smoked.
