Wheel simulators for Ram 3500

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but here goes...

When I got the dually stems put on our Ram 3500 DRW, they found that some of the plastic holding tabs were broken on both of the OEM plastic covers on the front wheels (which is why they were loose).

Then when I got home I found that one of the rear ones now has a scrape on the "chrome" and the white plastic is showing underneath, so I am going to just replace all four simulators.

I can get replacement plastic simulators for about $225 with shipping here: https://www.rvautoparts.com/IWCN8010..._p_312968.html

But I can get stainless steel simulators by Pacific Dualies for $265 from Amazon
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002L9J0JU...v_ov_lig_dp_it

It'd be crazy to go with plastic over SS, right?

Does anyone have experience with the stainless steel simulators from Pacific Dualies?

Thanks.

Well, I guess there's a first time for everything. I've never heard those things called simulators.

I don't know what brand mine are but I've always used the stainless steel ones on all my trucks. I just believe they're more durable than plastic.

Wheel simulators: Let's see:

You can get "metal look simulators" or "black out simulators" or "chrome simulators" or .....

Some of the best, IMHO are:

Helium simulators for trucks that are over their GVW
Lead simulators for trucks that need more traction in winter driving
Air simulators to soften the ride when not loaded heavy
Green simulators to reduce emissions
Warp simulators to shorten driving time
Radar absorption simulators to help stop speed traps
Mirror simulators for owners that really admire their truck

The list goes on and on.... An yeah, I'm bored this morning...

Have a great day !!!!!

I used this company for two trucks(Both Chevy DRW’s):

https://www.jaeeagle.com/product/421...imulators.html

The link is for a 2010 RAM 3500. The upside for the Chevy was that they incorporated the factory center cap which I didn’t want to loose. They held up very well. My first set was on for 3 years until I sold the truck and the second set was on for 12 years. As to your question, I’d always go stainless as opposed to plastic.

Those could be the best of both worlds -- SS & chrome! I'll definitely look into those! Thanks.
