Thermostat acting up

Ours is a 2010 Cougar and on our last trip the Dometic thermostat started acting funky. It still works, but the temperature setting is way off. If we want the AC to come on, we have to push the temp slider nearly all the way to the top. Same with heat. Is there any fix for this or is a new thermostat in order?

Thermostat

Hello, the sliding type are not very accurate usually anyways. I replaced mine with this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...rch_detailpage in my Cougar 28RLS. You just have to mark the wires good when taking out the old one. There's usually a wire that you don't use again. You'll also lose the hi/lo feature of the fan. I never used the lower fan mode anyways.
Hope this helps,
Joe

Or, if you have the old style analog duotherm thermostat, consider doing the Hunter digital upgrade. It's quick and easy and about a third the cost of replacing with another duotherm.

Plenty of threads here about that. Many of them contain links to other places on the net with even greater details. http://www.keystonerv.org/forums/sea...archid=2283977

Thanks for the input. I think I'll go with one of the digital models as suggested, either hunter or honeywell, whichever I can find close by. Don
