What Hitch with Passport 23RB Elite?

I am curious what weight distribution hitch owners of the Passport 23RB are using and what their experiences have been so far. Please also share what the load rating is for the bars you have and if you fill your fresh water tank.

23RB Towing

We tow our 23RB with a Draw-Tight WDH. 2 inch hitch bar M/N 63970 with 1200 LB bars. Bought everything on EBAY soon after buying the trailer (Feb 13). No problems thus far...easy to setup/configure/use. Only minimal sway encountered with strong wind on the beam.

Best of luck.

I don't have the 23RB but I have a 238ML and tow mine with an Equalizer 1k/10k hitch. It pulls like a dream with very minimal sway in the wind.

We purchased a Centreline hitch from our dealer when we purchased our 23RB. We tow with a 1500 Ram. No issues whatsoever with sway. Other than fuel mileage you do not know there is anything behind you. However, the truck has to be straight to the trailer in order to unhook the weight distributing bars. They are not coming off unless the TT and the TV are parallel to each other.

Sorry, do not recall the coupler ball height when the trailer is level. I do expect to tow the trailer over the weekend and will let you know. Seems I was too tired to wash the trailer after the Memorial Day weekend...and now gotta clean her up!...LOL.

What is your tow vehicle?

See below. Custom welded tow bar/hitch head is very short, so rear overhang/wheelbase ratio is the best possible. Sway control force doesn't depend on hitch weight with basic separate sway bars which is important for relatively large, but lightweight trailer. No sway, only gentle pull in/out from about 10% of passing big rigs. The other 90% pass without any effect

We picked up our 2015 23RB Passport Elite built on July 23rd from Thompson Family RV in Davenport Iowa on July 29th. Steve was great to work with to make it all happen within our vacation schedule.

We towed the 23RB home approximately 900 miles with our 2001 5.4 liter extended cab F150 with tow package using a ProPride 3P hitch (1000 lb bars). I was hesitant initially to go with the 3P hitch because of cost, but while making the trip home (with a detour through Wisconsin), I have no regrets. As others have stated, it performs as claimed.
