A good find for 50A adapter
I did not even know this existed...
I just hate my large and heavy 50A - boa constrictor - cable and really do not need it 80% of the time, 30A is more than sufficient. It's 12 inches long by the way.
This adapter allows me to use my light and flexible 30A extension to connect.
I am sooooo happy now. Just wanted to share, for those looking maybe for an easier way, when appropriate obviously.

Yep, hardly ever pull my 50 out unless I need 2 a/c units. Which is hardly ever as well.

They also make these for 15A to 50A, of course can't tun any A/C but it sure beats using a 50 to 30 to 15 setup.

Isn't that adapter shown 30a twist lock to 30a plug? How do you use that on a 50a circuit?

Nopes, it's a 50a.
Fits perfectly at the back of my new Cougar 315 RLS. 👍

Strange, a 50a cord should have 4 connections, not three. It looks the same as my 30a twist lock.
Nevermind, I see part of the side is exposed for the ground making the forth connection.

I bought a similar adapter but with a 90 degree turn so it hangs straight down.

Got mine from Amazon, they have lots of adapters, even one that supposedly plugs into the 30A and 20A receptacles on a pedestal that doesn't have 50A, which I don't believe I would trust.

One problem I’ve seen is that many of the 30A pedestals I’ve seen at the Thousand Trails campsites have been around since the early 70’s it seems. They are unreliable and often will trip the breaker even if your power requirements are not close to 30A. So if a 50A pedestal is available, I’ll use it even if I have to drag out that monster cable. Most of the time the wiring for those pedestals has been upgraded and I don’t worry about the need to get up in the middle of the night to reset the breaker

When we purchased our Alpine and I noticed the donkey size cord I ordered a 30 with a 50 trailer end which is used most of the time. Works fine except when both A/Cs need to be used when we settle down for the winter in AZ.

With our 2019 29BHS, we have been using a 50A to 15A adapter when plugged in at home just to keep the batteries charged and the fridges running. I would't use it while camping unless the 30A and 50A plugs were toast and we "needed" power.
