2013 has 18K on it so I guess I have a way to go before trading it in. May need to take some years off my age to appreciate how long it will last

Not sure how you guys do it! Bought the F350 new last December. Today it went past 31,000 miles. But we do hook up the 5er and travel often. In 3 years it will be out of warranty and another new one will be bought before it turns 4. If I'm able that is as I'm 69 now.

I bought my 2007 Chevy 3500HD DRW diesel in early 2015 with 78000 miles. Truck was in very good shape and well maintained. My plan is to drive this truck as long as I can fix it. It just crossed over 100K so I am expecting many, many more years and miles. When my truck gives out, I'll probably sell the filth wheel and find a used class A. To the OP, find a truck that has everything you need and go for it. I personally don't think dragging a 5ver around with a brand new truck (not broken in) is the best plan. If your not in a huge hurry save your money and then find a nice used truck when you are ready to full time. Put the money you save into your travel pot and have fun. Good luck, safe travels.

back 5 years ago we looked at a new 3500 and almost bought one then we came across a 5 year old GMC with very low mileage 29,000 km and in immaculate condition. Well that was 5 years ago the truck now has 100,000 km and has run flawlessly and it still looks great. I don"t know if we just got lucky but we did save a pile of cash.

To duplicate my truck I need to 'step up' to an F350 just to be equal to the camper and 5er packages my current truck is equipped with. I've harassed our local dealers and those fantastic deals everyone talks about getting just aren't to be had for what I want and for what I am willing to pay even with a 0% loan. When you pass that $70K mark, my blood pressure spikes, vertigo sets in and my eyes roll back in my head. So, with about 102,000 miles, still getting 18-20 mpg bob tail, all maintenance up to date, just can't justify something new just to impress --- me I like used and the current Ford Certified truck in 2013 had a couple nasty problems in the first 20,000 miles that the PO suffered according to the Ford OASIS report. Since then, nothing but normal and it is an '11 JOB 1 that has been upgraded by Ford to 400Hp/800 lb ft. Yes, I did spend a lot of time looking and yes, there are a couple boxes that if I bought new would have been checked instead of missed, but the price, condition and most of the equipment was right ---- for me.

Dave, that engine is just a baby with 100K on it. And only six years old? Imagine how nice it will be when you don't have any monthly notes anymore.....Oh, yeah, I forgot, YOU DON"T HAVE ANY!
Just think how nice that is.....

Jim, nah, never had a payment on this truck. It just keeps running better and better though I'm starting to fall apart

Finally turned 150k on the dmax yesterday, I guess it's time to do a radiator flush and coolant change. Maybe I'll wait a couple months so it's not so hot. I did have to replace both batteries last year, I guess I can't complain too much, got 5 years and 140k miles out of them.

Just did the coolant - don't know what fluid capacity the Dmax has for a system, but the Ford is 40 quarts over the primary and secondary systems. I used the 'orange' Prestone concentrate at $15/gallon vs the Motorcraft which is over $30 and both are identical spec Dex-Cool(and probably made in the same factory). Crossed fingers but I still have the original batteries - Ford says the OEM's are 'good' for 100 months
