For best results the handle should point north. The Tailgater will find and lock on the the satellites faster. The three satellites are orbital locations 110, 119, and 129. 129 sets pretty low on the horizon from some locations and makes it difficult to lock in at times.

There is a new Tailgater called Tailgater 4 or Tailgater 61.5. It allows you to choose between 110, 119, 129 or 61.5, 110, and 119. 61.5 is considered part of the Eastern Arc and has the same programing as 129 and sits a little higher in the sky and gives you a choice in the menu of the Walley. The Wally is required to get access to 61.5. Winegard also has the Playmaker 2 which supports 129 and 61.5. If you have the older Playmaker 2 you can go to Winegards website and download the new firmware, put it on a USB drive and update the Playmaker 2 to access 61.5.
