black streaks

Whats the best way to get rid of the black streaks? Some spots worse than others for example around the windows. I have scrubbed with soap and water and used some of that black steak remover from wal-mart. Needless to say the stuff from Wal-Mart didn't do any good.

Rich, this is what I use to get rid of black steaks and what I use to make it easier to clean. I use Soft Scrub on a wet rag to take the black streaks off, but be careful not to scrub too hard because it's an abrasive. Just lightly rub the streaks off. Then I use Rejex, True Value Hardware sells it, to all the places that black streaks are a problem. If you keep a good coat of Rejex on those places, then the black streaks will wipe off with a wet rag. Rejex really works well on the front cap during the bug season here in Florida - you can wipe all the bugs off with a wet rag.

We have used a product called LA's Totally Awsome for years and can be found at several of the dollar stores. I spray it on and can hose off most of the streaks and on the stuff that doesn't come off I just take a spong to it and they will wipe right off. I love this stuff for the bugs and awning too. I usually get a gallon for about $3.00 and since it's a multipurpose cleaner we use it in the house and inside the camper as well. One of the best bangs for your buck in my opinion.

One thing that was not stated by the others is to clean ur roof. That is where the black streaks come from. When was last time cleaned roof. Should do at least two times a year. Just what I've seen hear in postings an have read in my info hunts on my fifth wheel. Good luck.

The best non abrasive black streak remover is Meguiars #50 marine/rv cleaner wax, not only does it remove them, it waxes your rig at the same time!

I have found LA's awesome oxygen orange cleaner at some dollar tree stores and works quite well without a lot of elbow grease.

I have used the magic erasers with good success. Of course it will also take the wax off so you will have to touch up that area again.

Where are you purchasing this from? I'm only asking as I haven't seen it in the stores before. Thanks.

I bought my first bottle at a parts store, but since I buy it on amazon, it is the cheapest there. It leaves the fiberglass SO nice!!

We bought black streak remover from CW. It is worth every penny. It wasn't all that pricey either. You spray it on then wipe it off and the streaks are gone!

At dollar general I picked up something called DG home cleaner with bleach. Works great on streaks and awnings as well. And it is very inexpensive. Works better than the more expensive streak removers.

once I've got the black streaks cleaned off, I've found that keeping the roof clean and the gutters cleaned out really helps minimize black streaks
