Air Conditioner only works on low

Hello All, I have a 2013 Fuzion 342. When I kick on the main AC, it will only turn on if I have the thermostat set to low. When I turn it to high, the unit makes sounds however doesn't turn on.

Any ideas?

Are you referring to the thermostat AC FAN switch (high/low)?

Yes, when the fan speed is set to Hi, it just makes a noise however doesn't kick on however it has no problems when the fan speed is set to lo.

Sounds like an issue with the high speed portion of the fan, not sure if it has separate windings for low speed and high. To try and isolate issue have your tried turning the AC off or raising the temperature so compressor will not come on then switching thermostat Fan switch to manual then trying fan on then Fan switch from LO to High and see if operates. If does not operate on fan high then I would think it was the fan itself. My guess. Did it ever work?

I would pull out your thermostat from the wall and make sure the high switch fan wired has not come loose. There are separate wires for high and low.

Defective winding in the fan motor. The fix is to replace the fan.

Worked Today

Well, not sure what is going on. Went out and pulled the thermostat and it does not have a separate wire that I could see for the high and low fans. Lots of wires however nothing to easily tell which is which. I put the cover back on, started up the generator to test it again and it came right on. The only difference from the past couple of times I have tried was it was plugged into 50 amp service rather than using my generator.

Guess I will just have to see on my next trip if it does work or not.
