Hard to tell without knowing what make and model you have.

You can probably find a parts list and other docs on the manufacturers website. That may be your best bet for a definitive answer.

Go to Dometic's website and find the manuals section. Under sanitary systems you find the manual for the 310/320 toilets. They contain complete pats lists and trouble shooting info.

It was the first link listed under a google search using keys words dometic 310 - I bet you would have found it, too.

If you took it off, and it doesn't work since then, you haven't pre-tensioned the spring. If this is the case, take the pedal off, hold it where it should sit when closed then move it 90 degrees to the back (it should look upside down and pointing to the rear. Start pushing it in and rotate it forward to where it would sit normally (180 degrees from where you first had it backwards). Insert the screw and all will be fine.

If you didn't take it off, then you have another issue.

I've not worked on a Dometic toilet, but with the Thetford a failure to return is often a sticky water valve. Silicone dielectric compound is a pretty good lube for these components.

Howdy All;

Or, ... could just be loose attachment screws ...

Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil on the ball/seal.

That sounds like it should work pretty good. That stuff is very slick. I'm going to try it.
