Entry door issues

On my 29RBK, I am having an issue with the entry door. You have to slam it very hard to get it to close. I've had this issue since we got the TT, and it's been back to the dealer once for it already, but it seems to be the same. There is a metal latch plate in the door, and I tried to move it forward a little, but the inside lip of the plate is hanging up on the frame of the door and can't go any further. Before I take a file to this thing and really screw something up, does anyone else notice this issue?

There should be a small plastic wedge on the bottom of the door, I'm assuming its an aid to align the door as it closes?? For what's worth I took mine off and the door closes smoothly now.

It's worth adjusting or taking off,

I had to do thee same thing to the door on my Avalanche ow works good. It took a few times of fit checking and filings to get it right.

Did the dealer fix the issue when you took it back?

I was having the same problem with mine, but I took it back to the dealer and they readjusted it for me. Now it seems to close quite easily. However, I just got the unit back and I hope the problem doesn't return like yours did.

Not really. It might have closed easier for a few days, but I don't think so. I was looking at my friends Forest River this morning and I noticed that his door have that silver metal bracket inside the door frame. Mine is on the outside. I think a file is going to be the only way to fix this issue.

Thumbs up

I checked my repair invoice. It said that it was out of adjustment so they adjusted the strike on the door and lubed the latch. Hopefully, this will solve the issued for good b/c I got sick of hearing the door slam shut. I've only opened it a few times since the repair, but it was noticeably better. Maybe you could take it back to get it serviced. Afterall, that's what warranties are for.

I may try and take it back. I've got another few months before the 1 year warranty runs out. I've tried to lube the latch as well. Thanks for your reply.
