Passport & Bullet Recall

Keystone just issued a recall concerning A/C wiring on certain 2011-2017 models. Check last 8 digits of your VIN # to determine if you are included.

There's another post on this too. It just goes to show we have a good community of folks looking out for each other.

Thanks for the post and link.

Does anyone have a copy of the TSB that they can share?

I guess I'm making a road trip to the dealer. I just scheduled my appointment for next Tuesday.

Passport & Bullet Recall

Is this the likely issue?

Or is it in the junction box?

The recall on the KeystoneRV website. Under the owners tab, not the TSB. Sorry about that.

Just to clarify, the TSB will define the actions in detail that the dealer is to undertake to correct the problem.

I also opened my junction box in the ac unit and this what I found:

I corrected both issues that I found but want to be sure I have all the issues corrected including the issue the recall deals with in the event I missed something.

I have a 2014 Bullet Premier and my vin falls into the right category but according to the Keystone website, there isn't a recall for the Premier. I guess Bullet and Passport base are the only ones affected ???

So, is it just a process of isolating the 4 wires to prevent a short from happening? Closest Bullet dealer to me is an hour away and don't really want to make the trek for something I can correct.

I do not believe any of us know for sure what the remedial action is at this point. All I know is when I looked at my ac, there were obvious shortcomings in workmanship that I addressed.

Correspondence from another member who highlighted that Passport Elites are not on the recall list per the Keystone website, I am now uncertain if my TT is effected even though my VIN is in the stated range.

In any event, I am glad I looked and dealt with the workmanship issues before they developed into something more serious.

I haven't seen any affected units yet, but I can ask if we have received any specific instructions from Keystone.

That would be great, maybe that way I can get it fixed at a repair shop that you dont have to schedule two months in advance and wait a month to get the work done.

I have no confidence in my dealership at all. I was hoping I would not ever have to go back to them.

Has Keystone not provided the instructions yet?

I have an appointment next Tuesday for this, but don't want to drive 2 hours if the dealer doesn't have the info yet.

I don't know. I asked our warranty clerk to check into it. We only have one warranty person so he can't spend a lot of time researching. We haven't seen any affected units yet.

My 19Foot Bullet Premier was in for repair in Missoula Monday. Gull Boat and RV did the work which took about an hour. I really wasn't told much except it was isolating 4 wires to the AC unit.

I read an article in a newspaper that said you would have to put a screw through the wall and hit both wires with it in order to cause a fire. Sounds just like with any wires running in a wall. Did not make sense to me but that is what it said.
