Glad you got it figured out.

I added a pressure tank to the prior RV and loved it. Way less cycling on the pump... Simple 1 gallon tank installed under the kitchen sink.

There's also a lot of "noise" variation between pumps and how they are insulated between the housing, mount points, and PEX lines...

Oh no it still has the same issue, question is where do I look next.

I suspect there is a loose/cracked fitting between the pump inlet and the tank outlet. I assume the tank outlet is on top of the tank because i have no leaking water indicating its side/bottom mounted.

My next question is, the fresh water holding tank is mounted below the floor but where? I suspect close to the fill port about directly under the galley.

Because it is below freezing here, when we got home Sunday and I immediately stated my winterizing.

When I crawled under it to open the low point drains and water tank dump I noticed that one of the low point drain tubes was loose in an upper fitting (above the belly pan) that I could not see. This maybe a part of the issue but its after the pump in my eyes and should let air in...

Hi,

If your rig is anything like my Cougar, the FWT is located above the clorplast and is suspended by metal straps hanging from the frame rails.

You are correct, it will be close to the water fill tube and directly above the low point drain (red pipe in picture).

Also, on my tank the FWT output is located at the bottom of the tank on the side not the top. See the white pipe in the picture.

One would think, if my water pick up connection was on the side of the tank like yours I would have a leak?

I suppose it could have worn a hole in the flex hose though , maybe above water level.

Fresh tank outlet to pump is always at the lowest point of the tank. I have yet to see one with a pick up tube.

Would you say this then, the hose coming from the tank goes directly to the pump with no other fittings in between?

Just a tank connection and a pump connection???

Depends on how the city water connection is configured. If you have a valve that says tank fill or city water, then yes there should be a straight shot from the fresh tank to the water pump inlet. We sell a brand that uses the “nautilus” system, and having looked at the back side of that panel, I haven’t spent enough time trying to decifer the mess of pex lines.

Nope, city fill on left side and tank fill on right side. No valves of any kind to fill...

On the street side, you attach a garden hose, right? If you hook up that hose and turn the water on at the other end, what happens?

So the ONLY way to fill the fresh tank is with the gravity fill on the curb side?

Ok then, if that’s the case then I think you have a failure of some sort between the pump inlet and the fresh water tank.

Time for some “creative” tests:

Since the water pump inlet is 1/2”, you might want to fabricate a hose of some nature. Then fill a bucket full of water, and stick the end of the hose ito it. Turn on the pump and if it sputters, the problem is at/after the pump. If no sputtering then the problem is between the pump and the tank.

A bit chilly I would say. 34 degrees here, about to start putting an engine back together in a ‘99 Dodge PU.

Brrrr, I just don't want to have to winterize it again but i'm dying to get to the bottom of it.

So do you think there is just one flex line going from the tank to the pump? If so that will make sure easier to check.

My pump in brand new, but doing the same as the one it replaced.

Sounds like the case. If your winterized and not planning any trips, I would leave it til spring thaw.
