They are not an exact match, but as close as we could find.

Added brackets and poles to awning for support. I slightly modified the install from a post I found on a different forum.

The poles will help take the stress off the arms when I strap the awning down to the ground.

Are those extendable paint poles? What are the brackets from? Great idea.

Those are extendable painters poles.
The brackets are stainless steel commercial bathroom divider brackets:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And the adapters are threaded brush adapters:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I drilled out the holes in the brackets to 3/8" to match the hole in the adapter and bought 3/8" cotter less hitch pins to connect them together.

Have you considered how to handle rain water that accumulates on the awning when it's extended?

Yes, lower one pole. They can be lowered to 6' if needed or quickly and easily totally removed.

The poles worked out perfect! We even flew our sunshade out for more outdoor living area. We did have a heavy rain storm come through and I easily dropped one pole down 12" and it worked great. I think it worked better than not having them, because the awning straps pulled the awning tighter and the rain ran off better (didn't pool at all).

Great idea. Funny, I used the same extendable painters pole for the mast on my long range wifi antenna.

What wifi setup do you have and how well does it work?

I have the ALFA Camp Pro 2

https://www.amazon.com/Alfa-range-re...gateway&sr=8-3

I can't recommend the kit as the router is junk. With that being said, the antenna itself works fantastic. I can pick up a campground's wifi at their office or store, over substantial distance through trees and elevation changes. The end is a USB, so I plug it into my laptop and set up the laptop as a hotspot. The ALFA router went in the trash.

Thanks for the honest input!

Installed a Wacko Products Dometic RV A/C Silencer Kit tonight and what a difference. My DW couldn't stand when the AC kicked in, she complained that it was too loud! This kit dropped the db down to a much lower level and uses a much better filter too!

I always thought you couldn't strap down these new awnings. With the struts, made to have some give with the wind. Perhaps I was told wrong

I was always told the same thing, but a 18' awning in a slight wind acts like a sail and flaps around a lot. Strapping it down solves that! I still need to use some common sense and bring it in during heavy winds and to lower one corner while it rains. But strapping it down now allows me to enjoy having it out more and not worry about it as much...
