Advice on outback 27RSDS

Hey there everybody. Brand new to the site and tt camping. Just traded in my boat and got a 2006 outback 27RSDS. I have a 2007 chevy tahoe 5.3 with 3.73 gears. I know, I know, multiple thoughts on towing this tt with this rig. But I have done ton of research and hope to be fine. WD hitch with anti sway, just bought (installing tonight) tekonsha p3 brake controller and will take it nice and slow. I went with this model because I went in with my brother and this layout fits perfectly for our families.

So a few questions. I am picking up the tt monday for the full inspection and walk thru. Any blaring questions I need to ask or things to look for. The dealership called me today and told me he put on new tires and rims because the old tires were bad and was cheaper for him to just get new both.

Any advice you all you experienced posters could give me would be greatlly appreciated.

First of all welcome to the forum. I'm sure you'll find many questions about your new trailer and want to find answers to the ones you currently have and the ones that will pop up over time. Do some reading here and you'll find answers to most of them. If something comes up that you can't find or even that you don't know how to ask, just blurt it out and someone will probalby have an answer for you or at least be able to direct you in the right direction to get an answer.

As for your dealer replacing the wheels and tires, that's a good thing, but you might want to double check the brand of tires he put on your trailer. There are some "good quality" ST tires and there are some "not so good" ST tires. Do some looking on here by searching "tires" and you will find more information than you can read in one sitting.

As for quesitons to ask or things to look for on your PDI, go to this link

In the first comment, you will find a link to an excellent pre delivery inspection checklist. Print it out and take it with you. Use it as you go through the trailer and it will guide you through most of the issues you'll face.

Again, welcome to the forum, we're glad you're here.

Welcome to the forum. I'd highly recommend that you find, download and take the PDI checklist with you when you pick up your unit. Some things that may not be on the checklist and which are often forgotten about include:
1) knowing the location of all of your tank drains - pull levers.
2) where your water pump is located
3) how to operate your furnace and HW heater( on both gas and electricity)
4) how to winterize and dewinterize your RV. It may already be winterized but find out how it is done.
5) Where you low point drains are located.
6) How to manually operate the slides. Where is the slide motor?

In short, ask about how everything works - get the person to show you everything. It may take time but this is something you don't want to rush through.

If things need fixing or replacing, get them itemized and in writing.

If you know of someone who has experience with RV's, get them to come along with you. It always helps to have a person there who knows what questions to ask and what has been overlooked in the walk-through.

Hope all goes well for you.
