MaxAir vent question
I saw numerous threads on here but simple question. Can you leave your vents open even during a downpour with the Max Air vents installed? Service guy at my RV dealer said he isnt sure. Figured they would know everything HAHA

Javi is pretty much spot on. If you look at the vent lid you’ll notice that the opening points down, making it extremely difficult for rain water to get in. I have 2 at opposite ends and I’ve never had rain water make it inside.

plus some have a rain sensor, so it shuts down and buttons up if it detects water.

Mine are open 24/7 when the trailer is not in use. Never had a problem.

If you mean the vent covers (over the actual vents) not the powered vents then yes we leave ours open all the time.

We've never had an issue yet. The vents are even cracked open all winter in Connecticut to offset mold and mildew. As soon as the snow is off of the roof we're breathing fresh air!
We've had them on every camper we've owned since 1974! Probably the best money we've ever spent! The power vent covers also add airflow while occupied, even with rain sensors, installed on your stock set-up you'll still have power ventilation thru the storm, because your power vent doesn't know it'd raining.
Good Luck,

Yes. Never had rain or snow enter the TT. We have the Maxx Air covers.

The covers allow me to leave the vents open when the trailer is closed up for long periods. No musty smell.
