I just drove 140 miles total to get the recall. It took less than 5 minutes. I saw him go in with a couple of wire nuts. I'm sure I could have done it myself and saved gas/time.

Chuckster57, any follow-up on your dealer identifying the work that needs to be done for this technical bulletin? Thanks.

He didn't reconnect the thermostat power properly. I got home and the thermostat didn't have any power. I opened up the area for the filter. One of the wires in the wire nuts was loose (12v to thermostat). It looks like they cut some wires and put some wire nuts on it. I can take a picture of the area, so that you can compare.

I'm included in the recall...

If I get the info needed, I might just knock it out myself. Dread a trip to the dealer...

Safety recalls require some documentation. If you DIY the repair, I would ask your dealer about the form(s). We still haven't seen any trailers for this recall, but any safety recall I have done came with documentation that had to be filled out including dealer #.

The request has already been made. But like you, they are still waiting.

I surprised that Keystone has a recall and we have not recieved any type of notice. Do they expect all of their customers to check the website for recalls?

I called a dealer last week as soon as I found out about it. After a bit of a run around I found a different keystone dealer that knew all about it and said it would be a 5 min fix. I'm scheduled for middle of October. He said he already has over 100 units scheduled.

Here are the pictures. I think they cut, separated, and then put wire nuts on these wires. I didn't see it before, so you'll have to compare.

Thanks for posting the pictures.

My ac has all the thermostat wire connectors bundled together and wrapped in electrician's tape.

Passport & Bullet Recall

Have an appointment with my dealer in Calera Ala for next week to fix AC problem. According to them some of the units recalled have different issues with the wiring. So until they look up the details for mine they could give me info yet. However all the problems are still wiring related.

Re: Passport & Bullet Recall

At least I feel better knowing Keystone has sent out letters, I havn't recieved mine yet but probably will any day.

I was very concerned that if it wasnt for the forum, I wouldnt have even known there was a recall.

Re: Passport & Bullet Recall

We got our letter Thursday. We called the dealer (CW) to make an appointment, and their response was "Huh?" They claim to know nothing about it. We made the appointment anyway and then called Keystone, who professed the dealer had all the info they need via their web site. I sure hope so! We're headed out this weekend and the appointment isn't until next week, so I hope the weather is cool!
