Can anyone tell me what the clear thing is in this picture,, and can the push in fittings be replaced with threaded ones ?

Looks like a strainer on suction side of the pump. This looks like a flowjet pump and I believe the fitting is held in place by the blue clips and sealed with an o-ring. I don't think you can get threaded fitting for this pump. That being said you can get other flowjet pumps that allow threaded fittings.

Pump? If your talking about the water pump, it’s a filter/screen.

Thank you chuckster57,, how do I delete them,, was trying to get the picture posted,, is why there is so many, tried to delete but no luck

It is threaded on. Be careful because I’ve seen them overtightened and it cracks the screen housing.
Found your other thread, no it’s NOT threaded on. Let me look again and I’ll move that pic to this thread. Give me a few.

I think I cleaned it up, and answered in your other thread. If not shoot me a PM and I’ll try to explain.
Afar as the filter, that style pump uses push on fittings. You would have to change the pump to get threaded fittings. The blue fitting at the line in just pulls up if I remember and the one at the pump pushes down to release the filter.
