Shower drain leak

Have a leak below shower drain. Appears water is leaking on both sides of elbow. Not so sure it is leaking around drain itself. Where can I get a new elbow? Checked Lowe’s but too big. Do I need to go to RV dealer? Also what is the best way to get nut off of the drain? With plywood under pan, not easy to get anything on nut. Looking at putting new putty under drain and new elbow. Anybody have any advice or anything to watch out for?Click image for larger version

Skinny fingers work the best. I feel your pain, BTDT a few times. Channel locks can be helpful, but be careful. If you get it apart, just coat the threads with white pipe sealant and put it back together. I've done that repair too many times to count.

Check carefully for cracks around the drain in the shower pan. Sometimes these shower pans have a lot of flex and they like to crack there.

What is the fix, if there are cracks? New pan?

What you have is a HepvO waterless trap, and the elbow is part of the assembly. You might try tightening all the fittings, but if that doesn't work, just get a new one so you have all new gaskets. We had one under one of our vanity sinks that developed a crack in the elbow, and a replacement was the only fix.

I had the same issue and tightening it did not help. My issue was from factory, they did not used enough plumber putty on the drain. So, my solution was very simple and not hard at all. I found at lowes a bar sink drain(which is exactly the same size as the plastic crap they used) and replaced the whole shower drain with a 316 SS one and it worked perfectly if not way better. One note is that when you used the right reducer to tie to the pvc pipe use the proper abs to pvc glue. The whole drain is SS but you have to use an abs adapter to reduce it to the 2 inch pvc. But all that is easy and can be obtained at lowes. Homedepot does not carry that SS drain.
