Interior Light glare

Most of our interior lighting glares in our eyes. The ceiling lights are not an issue and the one light over the kitchen sink has a wooden shroud so it's good, but the other lights all shine in our eyes when lit.

I do have a few ideas but wondered if someone has an idea for shielding them in a way that's both functional and looks good?

We also have a wall light next to the couch that does the same and the light over the dinette does more glaring than lighting up the table.
There must be some good solutions out there?

Thanks

Have you tried soft white LEDs?

Without knowing what kind of fixtures it's hard to determine a solution. If you haven't already, you might try LED lamps as joe mentioned. They come in various shapes and can be pretty directional but that again depends on the fixture and the how the bulb attachment is oriented. LEDs come in several intensity/color variations and may be the answer to your problem.

Thanks, I have all led's. The fixtures are the standard 2 bulb you find on most every trailer or rv. That is not counting the one over the dinette and the wall unit. These are pretty standard also.
All of them work fine and throw the right amount of light. I'm just looking for some ideas to shield them from the side when you look in their direction. Thanks for the replies.

Just saw a post with pictures where the owner used Vaspar spray paint, frosting in a can to create shade from her kitchen light. This may just be what I'm looking for?

Should work. You may want to try tape first so you know how far to go with it befre you paint. Also try on a lense in a compartment first tomake sure paint doesn't soften or melt the plastic.
