Western NY to Knoxville TN

We are planning to leave late April for Knoxville TN and points South from Rochester NY.
Are campgrounds open this early? I'm thinking it's a 2 night trip as I don't like to drive much more than 4 hours at a stretch.
Any suggestions as to places to stay and routes would be helpful.

I would head over to Syracuse. Get on I-81 south follow it south to I-40 west. There are many campgrounds on 81 they will be open this time of year. Safe travels.

Linux, at first glance I thought "Laidback" had a rather odd route for you to follow. After looking a little closer it appears to be a very viable suggestion. You never leave the interstate, certainly plenty of campsites along the way, and fuel is never a problem. You may get tired of the "hills" along the way but still a good idea.

I think you are right, Laidback for the route and Notanlines for making me see it.

If you do a Search for "Linux3" I've made more than a few comments. Or PM me.

This is not the place to discuss towing but briefly, I put over 10k miles last year just towing. We really like the TT and the truck makes it easy.
