Premier 26RBPR: Instrumentation

So, I bought this new camper a month ago. I have not really been out camping as it is full winter here now. Wife and I go sit in it every now and then.

Today just as a curiosity from something someone said in another thread I went online and for maybe the 100th time looked over the spec sheet.

For the first time I really looked at the list of "standard instrumentation." Four things: Fresh Water holding tank gauge, Grey Water holding tank gauge, Black Water holding tank gauge, and............... Trailer Level Gauge. All listed as standard equipment. I have not seen a "Trailer Level Gauge" anywhere. Anyone familiar with this? What it is and where it is located?

Yep, I feel fairly foolish asking but there it is, please go easy on me.

Not sure what or where it is, but if it doesn't work any better than the other 3 gauges it wouldn't do you much good anyway. The holding tank sensors are notorious for being so inaccurate to the point of being useless, at least everyone of the rvs I've ever owned.

I've never seen "instrumentation" addressed in any "official Keystone brochures" or "official Keystone websites". That said, there are probably a lot of "Keystone sites" that I have not yet discovered. Instrumentation may well be one of those sites. Where did you find this list of instrumentation included with the trailer and how can I find it to take a look?

I was looking because of something you said in another thread about holding tanks and I wanted to be sure I KNEW and didn't have two grey water tanks.

So as I was looking I saw that part about instrumentation.

That list also has "freeze proof insulation" which I wouldn't put much stock either. Anyone that's owned a rv any length of time knows there's not one built that's "freeze proof".
Plus 12 year warranty on the roof, which does not cover faulty installation, which is almost always the problem with the roof if there's any issues.

An "ah-ha" moment.....

The RV Guide websites are similar to the "motor trend websites" for cars and trucks. They are an "independent commercial company" that compiles information about products and publishes that information for the general public (along with advertisements that earn them money)....

I filled out a "RV Guide contact us" request asking them "what do you mean by "Instrumentation: Trailer Level Gauge - Standard" ???

We'll see if they take the time to answer my question. In the meantime, I'd guess that they compiled a list of features and someone "filled in a check" in a box without knowing for sure if it applied.... I've never seen a "standard level gauge" in any trailer without a self leveling system. That is, unless you want to count the Dometic "round bubble level" included years ago to help level the refrigerator.

I'll post the response if RV Guide responds.

ADDED: A couple of comments about the "RV Guide information" on the Premier 26RBPR: The tires are listed as 205 75$14 LRC (the Keystone website indicates LRD tires) and the gray water tank is listed as 60 gallons in 1 tank. I believe there are two gray water tanks, each holding 30 gallons..... Just a couple of "common errors" typically made by "information websites" that aren't company sponsored.

I'll chime in and just say I think that rvguide just put some "specs" together and I suspect just misspoke on that; I have found other mistakes in the past in their listings and double check them closely. It would be nice if you had some sort of level gauge you just "touched" or looked at....but....don't hold your breath. John has checked into it so we'll see what they say....if they do.

MY "leveler" is a 3 foot level placed in the pass through.

Oak, here is the link to your trailer (I think). It shows a 30 gal. black tank and 60 gal. grey water. That would more than likely be 2 additional 30 gal. tanks.

The 26RBPR's has two 30gal gray tanks. You have two separate gray pulls, one from the kitchen sink and one from the bathroom.

You may want to check how your bathroom is plumbed, my bathroom sink drains into my Black tank.

As for the "Trailer Level Gauge", I thing they are talking about the Battery Level Gauge. That is the only other gauge that is on the instrument panel.

That would make sense. After all, if the battery is level, the rest of the trailer must be level as well ...

This is what's listed in the "instrumentation section" of that RV Guide page:

Fresh Water Holding Tank Gauge Standard
Gray Water Holding Tank Gauge Standard
Black Water Holding Tank Gauge Standard
Trailer Level Gauge Standard

Given the photo WNY Bullet posted, it would make sense, if RV Guide changed the word "Trailer" and replaced it with "Battery"....

I'm guessing that he is correct and what they "intended to say" is that the trailer has gauges for FWT, gray and black tanks and battery charge level (not Trailer level).

I have a 31BKPR and no instrumentation on ours. I do not remember seeing that in the Keystone, poorly written, owner's manual. Their manual is not very good compared to our prior Forest River TT. If you find it, let us know.

Also, we have two grey tank indicators on the panel. Did some digging and they are available on some Premiers and other Keystones, just not on ours. Even though the orientation guy at Camping World it did. He said it was for the outdoor kitchen. LOL

So, how do you know it goes into the black water tank? Not sure I would ever know that,

3ft of snow on the ground and cold but think I will spend some time under the unit this weekend and try tracking.

At least I am in a pole barn so no snow on or around the camper.

Oh, I quit looking for the "level indicator."

BUT if I come across it I will let you guys know where it is.

Black tank filling up faster than it should of, so I checked it out. So after flushing all tanks, I ran the bathroom sink and pulled each gate to see were the water was going and it came out the black tank. Theory proved...

The black tank vent stack goes up the cabinet behind the sink, so they just tied the drain into the black stack. Easier for them to plumb.
