I was just doing a Google search on some information on my trailer, and I found this forum. Pretty good luck, eh?!
So, this is my first RV. It's a 2012 Springdale 179. I'm all by myself, and I wanted to start off small, but with enough features that I wouldn't be missing anything. I'm a teacher in northern Alberta, Canada, and I have been in this trailer all summer, since June 28. August 21 is my last day with the trailer, as it goes into storage and I head up north to make some money to pay for all this!
What a great summer of camping! I've mainly been around the Canadian Rockies, the Alberta Badlands, and Calgary. A trailer is a great way to explore the country, and indulge my other hobby, that being digital photography.
I'm pulling it with a 2008 Dodge 3/4 ton diesel. A bit of overkill, yes, but it's what I've always wanted.
I'm really enjoying wandering around the different parks I've been in, getting to know people from all over, and looking at and learning about all the other RVs. I love them all!
to the forum. Glad you are enjoying camping and your camper and truck. When it comes to overkill on the truck part the guys on here will tell you that there is no such thing. They are big safety nuts and believe if you can afford more get more. The thing about camping at some point you may want a bigger camper for whatever reason. Then if your truck isnt big enough you end up having to get a bigger truck. The people on here are wonderful and yes most everyone lucks up when they find this forum, just like you I was looking for info on my camper when I found this great forum. Hope you make many more happy camping memories and safe travels.
