Steve,

We've never used the X-Chock (new design) but do have a pair of the older curved style (BAL 28005 Deluxe). Have used them on each of our last 3 trailers [15" & 16" tires too] and been very pleased.

Hopefully someone else here has experience with the newer design.

A couple items to note: 1) If you put this type of chocks in place while the trailer tires are still warm - check/tighten them again after the tires cool. 2) If your slide-out extends above/over the road side (driver's side) trailer tires - it may be easier to put the chocks in place prior to opening the slide-out... less crawling involved.

This looks like a new design, we have used similar for years now, best thing we had ever bought! It used to drive me absolutely bonkers while laying on the couch or the bed... someone walking up and down the trailer it would rock back and forth... The chocks completely stop the rocking, when we traded up to the 5th wheel, everything from the trailer stayed there except the chocks!

Tire Locking Chock

We just bought one of these on sale at CW. Had a $50.00 coupon so thought it was worth the money ......... I hope that it is 1/2 as good as everyone says. Though we only bought one and not two. Will try with one. And wait for another $50.00 coupon if we should need another!!!

Now just have to wait for Spring........... fair weathered campers we are!

Has anyone used the new bal extended chocks for wide spread axle, ( Bullet)

Just like Jerry, I would need the extended versions for our Premier, but my fender skirts protrude lower than the Bullets, so I don't know if they will work on our trailer.

I have the same motion problem inside while walking around. Currently we just use the plastic chocks, but those do not help with the motion!

Any thoughts or answers would be great.

I bought the new model X chocks for my New Passport last year and yes they work great! Th only issue that I see is the trailer that I have Passport model has the I will call them fender covers at the wheels, and it makes it a little difficult to put on but well worth it!! My trailer is a 2010 Keystone Passport 285 RL

Coach, I have the same issue, so now I put them on upside-down. Rachet from the top or bottom really shouldn't matter. Mine are the older style too.

Smile X-Chock

Hi Balldome
Just purchased the X-Chock from Camping World. Haven't used them yet but hear that they are very good. If you go to the link supplied below they are $39.99 each or you can buy them by the pair.
You will notice that the sale they have it is cheaper to get 2 singles and also you get 2 of the supplied wrenches instead of 1.

Thumbs up!

Used my Bal X-chocks for the first time last week. They greatly improved the stability of the trailer when parked - almost no annoying fore and aft movement. The chocks are very sturdy and are easy to install with the included wrench. No complaints!!

SF, we use the extended X Chock and it works very well. I use it on the curbside.

It works very well and it was not as heavy as I thought it was going to be. AND, best of all, it's Made in the U.S.A.!!!

Soddy, I went with Mikey's suggestion and ordered just "1", I thought it was kind of heavy myself.

By spreading the axles an additional 10" The extra wide stance equalizes weight & provides superior towability.

Yes Sod Father, Those are the same as chocks that I ordered when I bought the Pasport last year, even ordered them from that place. THey work great! The only issue I had is I install them upside down due to the "wheel skirts" on the passport model.

BAL X-Chock

Was in Camping World just yesterday looking at the Xc for new Bullet. Another camper doing the same took the time to go out and measure his 24' bullet. It seems that the distance between the spread axle is 16in. and the Xc only opens to 10". The X pads are drilled so I suppose you could add a couple of wooden blocks to make up the difference. I passed on them and now would like to find a set of Equal-i-zer (yep, the hitch folks) XLT's. If you DO own a bullet make sure that you get the xlT. The regular XL's don't reach. I hear the Xc's make a world of difference for those that can use. Enjoy ! See ya over the campfire. Pete

^^^ What he said!

I also found when mounted upright on some sites the shaft was too close to the dirt/stones when extended. It does keep the treller from rockin!

I install mine upside down also because of the fender skirts. They do prevent alot of the shaking & are easy to install before extending any of the slides in that area.

I have just one and it realy helps but I will be getting a second one before spring. I think 2 will be much better. And like Steve said if put on while tires are still warm you MUST retighten later. They will be loose.
