Screen for rear escape window in 330rbk

Should our 330rbk have come with a screen for the rear escape window in the bunk area? We are dry camping and could really use the breeze it would allow but don't want to invite any more flies in as they are all ready bad enough. The escape window in the front master bedroom has one even though there is no way to prop the window open.

Talking Front Escape window - prop

If yours is like our bedroom window, you unlatch it and straighten it out and push it out, and there is a catch somewhere on that metal bar to hold the window open slightly.

Oddly, family joke about it, as my wife was complaining you couldn't get cross ventilation in the bedroom since it just had the Escape window, when I opened it, and propped it open.

We have three escape windows in our Cougar. All of them have screens. You might want to contact your dealer and "NICELY" ask around. Or better yet, if you're close, just stop by and look at similar models.

If you approach Keystone with the request, they might well refuse to send one stating that model changes are made throughout the year and equipment changes are not retroactive

Screen for rear escape window in 330rbk

All our escape windows have screens also. Although I have an Avalanche I would think they would be the same.

With no prop rods, the windows may not be designed to remain open for ventilation (from the manufacturer). Some escape windows are not "permanently hinged" and will fall from the mounting if opened widely or moved by wind gusts. We have had a number of members report damage or loss of their escape windows when not securely closed and the RV towed in that condition.

If you want to use it for ventilation, if you can't obtain a screen from Keystone or your dealer, you can have on made at most window sales/service dealerships. If you choose to do that, I'd suggest you examine the window carefully to be sure it will stay hinged without falling off the track and then devise a method to prop the window open so it won't blow closed or be damaged should a wind gust catch it.

We have a 330rbk (5th wheel) and I don't believe it should have a screen as their is no way to prop open the window. Not sure if the travel trailers are different, but the escape window in the front bedroom does have a arm that props it open with the screen in place.

escape window

I have three escape windows on my Cougar and all have screens on them. As stated by others a call to the dealer would be my first step. If a reliable dealer and depending on when you took possession of your RV, they should get you a screen. Just my 2 cents.
