High pitch squeal

Just curious if its normal when I turn the generator on and once it powers everything up I get a high pitch squeal coming from the circuit breaker panel below the refrigerator. It will go on for about 5 minutes then fade away. Thanks

2014 Impact 311. Thing is brand new and have taken it out 3 or 4 times and it will always do it but go away. No breakers are popping and everything is working.

Thanks

Never had anything like that. Does it do this when on shore power? Could be your converter (or maybe a cat?).

Sounds like it could be the cooling fan on your converter. May need replaced or lubed if that is possible. Or something may have got tangled in the blade itself like a string or something. Have a close look at it anway. Good luck.

Hard to explain the noise, its kind of like if you hear power lines sometimes you can hear the current going through them kinda thing. Its a really high tone and slowly after about 5 minutes it will fade away. Everything still works fine. Have not been on shore power this is just when I turn the generator on and the converter kicks in.

Your converter will kick in hooked up to shore power and/or generator. So if it only does it with one source of power, it just became more complicated Just read your last post again, plug into shore power see if you get the same noise (hum), mine makes no noise at all except when I first plug it in and it's the fan coming on and then going off a few minutes later. If that is what it is it's fine.

I have no place to plug in shore power (I live on Kodiak Island). It does not sound like a fan but who knows. I will keep an eye on it and post if anything comes up
