outside floods, hitch, service area and storage lights

We recently bought a 2003 27rl Laredo fifth wheel. all of the lighting mentioned in the title did work, now they do not. I have checked the fuses in the panel at the convertor. I have switched on the bathroom bedroom etc etc lights and then gone outside to try the lights in question. Can anyone offer me some guidance. I have also pulled the flood light switch and put the wires together to rule out the switch.

I hate to ask this question but I know there can be a really basic answer.

All other lighting seems to be working properly, including porch light.

I have requested info on a wiring diagram from keystone also.

Thanks
Hud

If you have a remote control, what is turned on with the remote must be turned off with the remote and vice versa. You can't operate a manual switch after using the remote until the remote "resets" the automatic switch. I'd guess many of your light issues could be the remote ????

Otherwise, if don't have a remote control, there are fuses in the wiring harness from the batteries to the front landing gear. It's possible that fuse is blown and the lights you're talking about are wired into that circuit. Normally it is an "in-line" fuse in a fuse holder that looks something like this:

Good Luck !!!

no remote on my trailer. at least we did not receive one. It is a 2003, any chance that I should have one? Can you tell me where to look for a receiver?

The battery area was going to be my next stop also. I know there are some circuit breakers there as well.

Thanks, I appreciate you replying to my issue!!!

2003 models probably don't have a remote. I'd guess it's a fuse in a wiring loom somewhere in the front compartment. If you do have a remote receiver, it's probably installed in the front compartment, close to the battery and where it would be protected from weather. There will be a 6 gage wire from the battery directly connected to the remote receiver.

Seems logical that these lights would be grouped on a single circuit. I would look for a blown fuse or bad common ground on the circuit. You mentioned that you checked fuses, did you actually check them or rely on the led light not being lite next to the fuse? These Led's have to be good for this feature to work

Since all the fuses in the power panel are okay I would check the one the John referenced. If that fuse is also found to be okay. You would expect each of these light should have 12VDC at there terminals. If still no lights I would concentrate on lights/switches you have easy access to. For example that switch where you jumper past the switch, I would check with a volt meter that you have 12vDC on one of those two wires. If you get 12VDC then the light bulb or ground is suspect. If no 12VDC all I can think of is there is another fuse somewhere that is blown or an open in a wire somewhere??

Maybe another simple check is an easily assessable light that is out like say the storage area check voltage on that one and the bulb.

Hopefully it will be a hidden fuse. Hope this helps. Let me know how you are doing. I am jealous have not got to play around with mine yet this year. I know I have at least one security light out on one side. Thinking if I have to go up there and replace it should probably put a led bulb in there while it is open.

It's so great when one comes back to tell of the problem and it's fix.
