X-Lite propane tank cover

I noticed tonight my propane door/cover is really loose. One side of the "latch" is super tight and the other is loose. This is causing the door to be very loose. It looks as if the bracket and the rubber latch is further back on one side than the other. Anyone else notice this?

These photos might shed some light on my issue. If I pull the one side real tight, I am afraid I might rip the black tab, as it is tearing already.

I don't hook mine that tight. I hook both of mine loose. If it came off, where is it going? Sure, it moves around a bit, but I don't think it will actually unlatch. If you've already stretched the straps, this may no longer be an option. I figured the knobs on the bottom prevent it from actually coming off.

I was just thinking the rattleling would eventually cracking something. If I tear the rubber strap, I think I'll just order a new one. Or run a zip tie around the two pieces.

Thanks for your reply.
Chris

Chris, my concern came more from the strap breaking while in transit and then becoming very loose. Really, I don't think that there would be much air moving back there allowing it to move around but so much, the truck is breaking it. It is a good question though that you pose. I had all of those same concerns but just chose a different tact.
