Winterizing

So I just finished winterizing yesturaday ... sigh

Anyway I have one question when I disconnected my flojet pump to suck antifreeze throughout my system I wondered what protects the hose that I disconnected from the inlet which I assume is a straight shot to the fresh water tank?

If you ran the pump dry for 30-45 seconds before disconnecting it, then all should be well. If not you could blow through the hose to remove any water left in it.
