Truck Washes Safe?

So I am new to Fifth Wheels...sorry for the silly question!

Is it safe to take your 5ver through a truck stop truck wash? I figured it was no big deal but didn't know about the "high pressure" wash you find in one of those outfits? Thanks and I apologize in advance for the question...

Boy, I'd NEVER take mine thru one of those. That hi pressure water can enter your rv thru a lot of spaces and cracks and seals. Stay away. Some truck stops have a hand wash crew available.

I'd worry about pealing off the graphics with that high pressure...

Not sure where I read this, but in a forum post somewhere. The poster had taken their 5th wheel through one of those truck washes, and discovered afterward that the high pressure water had entered their furnace and damaged something in the burner. You have your furnace, water heater, and your frig that are not well protected from the elements under ideal conditions, but definitely not from high pressure water. And as has been stated, you will have all kinds of things come loose from the wash. I won't even consider a portable pressure washer for the same reasons. Long extendable brush and good car wash/RV soap is all that is needed, except for the bugs that stick to the front, and there are cleaners for that also.
