Picked up our new 325srx!!

Just had to share, picked up our new 325srx on friday!! What an awesome rig. Has a born on date of 4-24-13! Nine days out from the factory, it's in my possession. Ordered it with the 15k A/C, fireplace, and upgraded wheels. Bought it up at Pete's RV in Burlington Vt, about 3 and a half hours up from Central Mass, but definitely worth it. Besides being about $4500 cheaper than anyone closer, they were GREAT to deal with. From Chad, the salesman, to Allen in service, they went out of their way to make it a very smooth, enjoyable experience. Ed did a great job on the PDI, and I had all the time I wanted to look it all over. Two minor things were quickly fixed with a smile.

It sure is a bit bigger than out old 27' TT, (with no slides). LOL! The new GMC 2500HD CC SB towed it beautifully, even coming over the Green Mountains. No chucking or swaying. The Pull Rite Superglide really helped backing the rig up our rather narrow driveway. I did purchase the Easycare 5 year extended warranty, which I always agonize over, but figured if I didn't buy it, I'd end up needed it..LOL.. and gives the DW piece of mind.

I've got a few weeks to stock, and do a few mods to it before Memorial weekend. The garage is going to do split duty, parking for the bike, a bedroom for my 16 and 18 year old sons when they join us. Need to make some beds that I can dismantle when it's just the wife and I. The 8 year old gets the bunk for all his stuff. The L shape will really help hide it all too!!

Thanks for all the info I've found here.

Congrats on the purchase, lots of 325srx owners here and lots of specific mods for the unit found in the forums. We've owned ours since 2011 and very happy with it. In fact, as I type this we are on vacation in sunny California. =)

Can u post pics of this fireplace and upgraded wheels I am curious what they both look like.

Thanks!! My only complaint so far is the control panel, I've had to reset it twice, and it's only been sitting in my driveway..

Here are some pix, sorry only iPhone quality at the moment. Boy, that fireplace sure throws some heat! Not sure what the standard wheel looks like, so not sure if I got rooked or not!! LOL!!!

I have a 325srx also- I believe it is one of the best value toy haulers out there. Only a few minor problems.

I came from a 19' hybrid so the 325 seems massive.

Repost that picture of the fire place I want to see that.

very nice- I see they redesigned the whole cabinet.

I think the other change is you have slam shut type outside storage doors.

The cabinet design seems better than the nicknack shelves IMHO.. Floor to ceiling cabinets make sense but likely same depth. Looks like a different stereo unit too, maybe a different brand. The fireplace is good, the furnace is a little on the small side in the 325srx when it gets cold we've found..

FTWingRiders - what are the specs on the fireplace?

I took my cabinet apart trying to build some type of better storage but its so shallow. Ended up putting it back the way it was. I was hoping to make it into a better beverage storage area but not there yet. Above we have baskets and plastic containers which fit perfectly to hide the junk.

Thanks for the pictures BTW. The rims look same as all other 325srx units I have seen. Maybe its part of an option package that includes this wheel automatically. I dont remember having to ask for them i had mine built. Either way, they look good. My advice is to keep them constantly waxed as they are painted. My first set on delivery were peeling and were replaced. I believe the winter roads as it was a November delivery caused it. Since keeping the, waxed they clean up easier and have stayed looking as new..

I agree the furnace just makes it when it about 20 degrees out.- One of these days I need to pull the panels and check/ seal the duct work.

dam I like that fire place.

Dave,

There's a "give and take" in everything. Once you seal the ductwork, there will be less leakage of hot air into the basement, so you'll lose some of the heat that currently "protects" your tanks from freezing. That may mean a warmer cabin but frozen plumbing.

It seems that with the "artic package", "polar pack", or now the "glacier series" sometimes you can't win for losing.....

Ya, That was one of my wife's MUST HAVES!! She's a little on the cold blooded side, and really enjoys her heat! Of course, I'm the opposite, and love it a little on the cool side.. LOL!! I'm already contemplating a second a/c for the bedroom, and haven't even slept in it yet!!

I'm hoping to spend a little time out with it tomorrow, and I'll pull the paperwork on the fireplace, and post any specs on it.

Thanks for the tip, I'll be sure to put a good coat of wax on them. Not surprised about them not really being an "option". I'm sure it's just one of their ways to mark up the price a bit.

Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for your EasyCare warranty and did you purchase from the dealer or direct through EasyCare?

I am in the process of buying a new TT and I know the dealer is really trying to put the screws to me on the warranty. My first camper was an EasyCare warranty and it wasn't too bad of a price. This dealer is nearly double (started off more than double) the price. Different dealer and warranty company, but same coverage and pretty much same negotiated price for the TT. If you don't feel comfortable publishing the price and don't mind telling me, you can PM me. Thanks!

Srx

Nice to see the SRX happy owners are still flowing! We love our unit, picked up in Fall of 2010, 2011 model. In our 3rd season of use, very happy. Newest Mod is being installed this coming weekend, turning the screen doors into storm doors with Optix clear .093 panels, using Velcro for easy removal. We want to use the aircon with the outer doors open, this is filling the bill. Have added a satellite dome, bedroom air conditioner, small inexpensive corner shelves, long interior mirrors, swing-out 26" flat screen in the storage bay..... Now that both our kids are in College, this thing is huge for just the two of us, very nice.

LOL!! We're getting into the same boat.. My oldest son graduated, and my other son is only 2 years away. I imagine this will be my last year with all of us .

We can't wait to finally use the new camper, we're headed up to NH the week of Forth of July, with 2 other weeks and long weekends planned. Still haven't gotten everything where we want it yet, and there are a few mods to do. I 'm sure it will be the day before we're leaving before it's all done! LOL!!

I'm hoping to add the second bedroom a/c, and I Love the idea of turning the screen door into a storm door, might have to steal that one!!

Hi All. Thought I would jump in on this thread instead of making a new one. I picked up a new 325SRX last week as well. Traded in a Weekend Warrior FS2300 for it after that thing became too much of a headache. Seemed to be a good balance of what I wanted and what was realistic to pull with my 2500HD. The two biggest selling points for me, and this first one may sound petty, was being able to get into the fridge without putting a slide out, and the second was the dry weight. Really don't want a bigger truck than the 2500HD crew cab short bed.

I'll be using to drag my Buell motos around with me. they're light enough to take either two bikes, or one bike and the tool cart when I go to the track.

I've been reading a lot of the threads here in the last few days and already have a couple mods picked out. Primarily the extra rain gutters that have been mentioned in some other threads, some additional tracks in the cargo area, and the kitchen island. One that I did as soon as I got it home and it stopped pouring is DOT red/white reflective tape across the back bumper. Plan on replacing all the incandescent lights with LEDs over the winter.

Anyway, just wanted to say, "Hi. I'm Alan, and I'm a modaholic" (ask anyone over at the Chevy Avalanche Fan Club).

Hi Alan, Welcome! I'm REALLY looking forward to our first week in our 325. The plan is to start modding this weekend..finally!!LOL!! I also was interested in keeping within specs of my 2500HD CC SB. Do you have the 6.0 or the duramax? My wife and found a couple of different 5'ers that were light enough, but the 325 really stood out for us. Just had all we were looking for.

Good luck, and enjoy your new rig!!
