My 2014 slide motor has never leaked and probably was manufactured before the problem seals were being installed. Even though there's no reason for me to worry (from the statistical data side of the equation) I went ahead and zip tied a shallow "meatloaf size" aluminum pan to the underside of my slide motor. Now, if there "might ever be a problem" my slide roof is protected.
Easy mod that just made sense at the time, cost me nothing (so to speak) and provides some "added protection just in case"......
There's no need to spend money to "buy the factory drip pans" which may not work well on your slide motor, if there were any revisions in the motor case/gearbox size or shape. But, if I were you, I'd take a couple of minutes and add some "no cost/low cost" drip pan to the motor gearbox.
