Pictures for Veteran's day

With Veterans Day 2019 less than a week away I’ve decided to share some pictures with you.

A number of years ago while meandering our way across country, using roads close to the CDN border. We arrived at Ashland, WI, on US highway 2 in the early afternoon. Right away we noticed the murals on numerous buildings with some still being worked on. We couldn’t find a convenient place to park the rig so we just kept riding around the block taking pictures. Not easy in a smallish community with a 53’ rig.

When meandering like we were, we never had reservations. We just drove 200 – 300 miles a day until we found a place to park. Just down the road, 15 – 20 miles we found Northland RV park in a little unincorporated community called South Range. We spent 3 days there exploring the countryside.

Cal, we have been in Ashland a number of times and seen the murals. The city offers an accompanied bus tour of the murals all summer and into the fall for a donation of $5.00. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. I might further add that the city of Lake Placid, Florida, known as the caladium capital of the world is really better known as the city of murals. There are 47 large murals around the city depicting their history and heritage.
Both cities are well worth a visit.
