Cool Vent covers

Good Morning all, Do most 5th wheels come with Vent covers? I have a 2018 Raptor 425 TS toy hauler and have 2 vents....one vent motorized and one vent hand crank. Ours did not come with covers!

Probably not. Mine came with one and I added two more. If they were included on the features list, talk to the dealer. If they weren't, you didn't lose any money.

I think the reason that manufacturers don't include vent covers is that folks have a lot of aftermarket choices: fan, no fan, color, rain sensor, etc.

Most RV's do not come with vent covers. A few (very few) "high end" RV's come with covers from the factory, most RV's don't. You can buy cheap ones from WalMart for about $19 and the price goes up to about $75 for "feature filled" models. The question of which is preferred is sort of like where to put the toilet paper holder in the bathroom. Every owner has a different opinon, so rather than put holes in the wall, the factory "leaves the decision to the purchaser".... The factory uses that "excuse" for not installing vent covers.... Plus, it adds to the profit margin......

They are also easy negotiating items when purchasing a new camper, at least has been for me. The dealer sells them for about $40/each so I'm guessing wholesale 2 of them might cost the dealership $60 total + a little labor to make a deal happen is worth it to most dealers. YMMV

Yeah I've never had a dealer even blink at a demand to include them. Since I'm an extended warranty guy, they know they're making money off me on the back end.

After having a terrible experience years ago in my Jayco G2 of the old ones getting brittle I had them installed on my new 29RKS as part of the deal from the dealer. They sell them for under $30 and probably cost $10 so they didn't complain. Took me less than a hour to do them on my Jayco and well worth it.

Enjoy

No, they don't usually provide anything, however you can pick up some on line. I just purchased to Camco vent covers for about $20.00 each and put them on. Easy to install and I end up replacing them about every three years or so. We live in Arizona and the sun just eats them alive, but it is cheaper and easier to replace them than the vent lids themselves.
