Reese Dual CAM question

I have a 2016 F150 super crew, 2.7 ecoboost with a tow package. 1440 payload.
A 2016 Springdale 260TBWE.
My hitch is Fastway e2 round bar friction. That I’m not to thrilled with. Under ideal conditions it toes fine but with a little wind it’s a handful.
I’m looking to switch to a a Reese dual cam.
My MAX Tongue weight on a fully loaded trailer would be 903lbs.
I’m no where that as when I loaded my trailer I’ve weighed everything and am about 6000-6200 lbs.
My question is which dual cam setup to buy?
The 800lbs bars seem a little light if I ever do go max trailer weight and the 1200 seems overkill.
Which bar setup would you go with?

Or should I go equal-I️- er with the four point friction control.

I am leaning toward the dual cam as I think it’s a bit better for stopping the sway before it starts.

Thoughts?

We have the 1200lb dual cam. Just new set it for our new tow rig. I always seem to go bigger than needed just for the comfort level when towing

This is what I have, https://www.curtmfg.com/part/17501 and the trailer is rock solid behind the truck. Overkill and no problems. I will be upgrading to a 2.5 receiver shank in the spring so I don't have to use the sleeve. Truck is aprox 9500# loaded and have not maxed out the trailer yet at 8800#GVW I need to get them on the scales next summer and find my true weights. The tail should never wag the dog

I had the dual cam hitch for my 36' Jayco and it did well. I went from 1200# bars to 1500# bars as the tongue weight was right at 1200# loaded. You can always go with heavier bars and just add one link of chain when you draw them up to the snap brackets so the tension is a bit less. It should not affect your ride. We upgraded to a fifth wheel and I installed air bags in my F 250. This greatly improved the ride and towability of the travel trailer. Not sure why, but handling improved.

Went with the Equal-i-zer E4 and 1000# bars. Previously had the traditional Reese WDH with 1000# bars and the added sway bar. The change made a world of difference. Pull a fairly light trailer but overkill in better.

I agree. I have the Reese Dual cam with 1700 lb. Bars. If Curt made a hitch heavy enough for my camper, That's what I would have. A friend upgraded from a Reese to Curt this summer. It is very heavy duty and took care of all of his sway issues. The Curt is much Heavier than the Equilizer.

My trailer is 6500lbs loaded pulled by an F150. We use the 4 point Equalizer hitch and sway control with WD 10000lbs trailer max and 1000lbs tongue limit. I have yet to have a white knuckle event and I pull mostly in Manitoba/North Dakota and Northern Minnesota, so we get some good wind up here.

I love my dual cam setup. Been thru some pretty bad storms, even tornadic activity. I went 1 step up on the bars(1200) since the other was borderline.
