Rear wall delaminating?
Passport 250BH, noticed that the exterior rear wall feels like the exterior has let go of the wall. Can push in about 1/4" to 3/8" and appears to be a bit convex. Most noticeable within about 6" of the roof. Inside feels solid like the other walls.
Anyone had or seen this before? Is it a problem?
Tom

The rear exterior wall of most Keystones floats. Search back on delaminate or delamination or delaminating and you will find many threads going back 5 or 6 years, all with folks asking the same question. Answer's still the same. It's normal.

thanks, I kind of thought that it did allow for some movement during travel. Glad to hear and glad I asked.

Have it checked out... it all depends on what your talking about. We had what appeared to be bulges around the rear window and around the water heater access door. The outer skin felt loose or just like delamination. We also had some bubbles/wrinkles on the top corner of the rear panel. Took the trailer in for some small warranty issues and to fix our helium fridge and showed the service advisor the back panel. He said "WHOA! that shouldn't look like that."
They investigated the bubbles and deemed the panel defective. They had the keystone rep come look at it and they said the panel will have to be replaced. We did not want to lose our camping season so they checked the rear panel for leaks, documented everything, and sent us on our way. We are bringing the trailer back to have the panel replaced sometime after labor day.
Here's a picture of one of the wavy areas

I noticed that while doing my PDI and asked the salesman. I was told it is normal as most of the wire runs etc are there.
It looks nothing like camper times though, just spongy..

My new Cougar has a "free hanging" sheet of fiberglass as the rear wall and it kinda does it's own thing as far as flexing. Looks real bad out in the sun and looks good in the shade.

The rear exterior wall on my 19fbrb has a 1/2 inch gap where the wall has separated from the roof seam. It started looking wavy and ended up completely separated. It is at the dealer now and I find out tomorrow if it is under warranty. It has until October but I'm never sure until the company excepts it for repair.

Thought I would post an update to our bubbled/wrinkled back panel. Panel was replaced in August under warrenty and there have been no more issues with it.

Well it looks much better now Good to hear that they fixed it right for you as it's something that you don't need to worry about when it rains

Yep, that's the way a back panel should look! Ought to cut down on the worry and stress too!
