Anyone going Sturgis this year?

My plan is to be on the road Thursday the 29th from Texas. Take a few days, getting up there Saturday.

Will be there as always....10 days of craziness. With all the hype around the 75th anniversary the speculated numbers are way over board. The rally will be busy but the year to be there is next year.....The Buffalo Chip celebrates 35 years. Sounds like Woody is holding out until then and has been planning for it well before the 75th.

For those staying at the Chip, what sections are you in? We're at the Shooting Range.

Made it in last evening. Make sure you have a long power cord and water hose for the shooting range section. Not the best setup.

A guy I used to work with just died on his motorcycle on the way to Sturgis. Retired earlier this year, too. Shame.

Be careful out there.

Sorry to hear that. Unfortunately riding comes with risks.

Today, in Yellowstone, a blue Harley with a man and a woman on it (no helmets) were passing a car in a no passing zone (25MPH zone). He must have been doing 50 or more, ran the car in front of me off the road and DARN NEAR hit me. Had I not swerved onto the shoulder, there would have been two more injured or dead cyclists. As said, be careful out there (and don't be STOOPID either)......

We're going way out of the box here, I explain to people all the time that if you want to understand risk management, ride a motorcycle. Because riding is all about how much risk you're willing to accept, and what you can do to mitigate it. Unfortunately guys who ride like you just described have no concept of either.

Back on topic, Ocho and Way of Life, did you guys make it ok and what sections are you in?

We where finishing up a 3 week trip in co and I never seen so many toy haulers on the road to Sturages and motor cycles. I seen one older toy hauler with 8 motorcycles following behind.I checked parking sites and found several for a day or 2 and would have to move, I cant imagine moving around with a big rig.
