BBQ Support Mounting

I'm a newbie to 5th wheeling (Raptor 300MP) and am trying to mount a support bracket for the BBQ. I bought a 16" support bar but need to find where the wall frame "Studs" are. I would like to mount the bar below the window in the garage just above the trim piece to the left of the rear door.

If you are talking about the slide that mounts to the RV that the BBQ mount hooks into, I'm not really sure what the concern is. I'm not sure in the Raptor, but most RVs have 24" wall stud spacing. Trying to mount in a stud could put you quite a bit away from where you want it. Most outside grills don't weigh much and as long as you are not hanging on them, a typical expanding wall insert should hold up just fine. Of course if you can find a stud it will be a stronger mount. I've never used a stud finder on an RV, but I don't know why one wouldn't work. The stud finder basically measures density of the wall material, when it finds an area with different density levels it returns the signal. The aluminum stud obviously has a different density than the fiberglass. Stud finders are pretty cheap at any box store tool department.

If you are not in a big rush to install it, wait for a cool humid morning and look for the condensation lines where the studs are.
