Instant Pot Pork Ribs

Made these tonight for dinner, 60 minutes from start to in my belly.

What do you like to make in your Instant Pot?

At the risk of not knowing: what is an “instant pot”?

Looks good. Going to do a batch of country style pork spare ribs in the slow coooker tomorrow.

It's a pressure cooker brand. We're just learning, but dang, these are awesome. Only bacon beats ribs.

I gots one of those! I could take dry beans and 30 minutes later have refrained beans that rivaled Rosarita. I use it to make my filling for homemade chicken tamales. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll love it. BBQ chicken in under 20 minutes. I have a cookbook (one of many) just for the pressure cooker.

Instant Pot! Seems to be the latest craze out and from what I've read it's the biggest seller on the internet. My daughter asked for one for Christmas so we got it to see what it does......she just hasn't used it yet since she is preparing to move. We have everything the Instant Pot is supposed to replace (multiples) but the thought of one device replacing them is appealing. Please update us with results with the unit...I am seriously contemplating one.

Mine isn’t that brand. It’s “Presto”. I got it years ago. Here’s a glimpse of some of my cook books.

On the right is the “pressure perfect” book.

It is great so far in my mind. Ribs tonight, beef roast with carrots, green beans and potatoes, pork roast....all have been great. And it is so fast. Nicest part is the top and the cooking pot go in the dish washer so clean up is easy. We are going to do some chicken beasts later this week.

Now Chuck has me thinking Mexican. I can't wait to use it out camping this summer.

I'm thinking some books would be good. I've just been searching the net for recipes when we need one.

I think I should be scared to ask, but how big are the chickens you have down there if they are beasts?!?

I am getting closer to getting an Instant Pot too, just haven't quite convinced myself I would use it.

Chicken beasts!! I think we've found them here in the FL panhandle. At home we have choices of fryers, baking etc. etc. Here if you want a whole chicken it's a WHOLE BIG chicken...probably enhanced some way. I eat chicken all the time but here in the FL panhandle I just couldn't buy something that they had. Fast forward 3 months and I was very tired of buying fried chicken from the only decent place. The grocery store and WM had the same kinds of chickens but at greatly different prices. Wanted a fryer....no way-it didn't exist. Bought a "baking" chicken. Whew!

We raised chickens all our life and I'm very familiar with them....including dressing them. These chickens (in the bag) were well over 5-6 lbs. I never raised one like that.

I used the chicken, cut it up and the breasts were so large that I cut them into quarters and I was STILL sucking wind trying to use them.

Anyway, yes, I have encountered chiken breasts that were beasts!

"We are going to do some chicken beasts later this week" I wondered how long THAT one would take to get around. Being a fifty year Memphis resident it simply isn't possible to use pork ribs and slow-cooker/pressure cooker in the same sentence without being berated unmercifully. (Go ahead; I can take it)
Self-respecting hogs would never allow their ribs to be done in this manner.
Chip, would you do a 24 ounce ribeye in an instant pot? You think Javi or Gearhead would do a brisket in a pressure cooker? See where I'm going with this? It would be like me telling Vampress about preparing lutefisk.....

And to touch on the chicken size, how about this Dolly Parton of chicken breasts?

Good grief! Does it still taste like chicken? That is crazy. And I honestly can say I've never seen one that big. I thought you guys were joking about having to cut them up!!!

How to make lutefisk - take a fish, dump it in lye, and politely escort it to the dumpster while holding your breath. Sorry, I couldn't resist. I grew up in a small German town here, not a Swedish/Norwegian one and never acquired a taste. But I can't stand sauerkraut either, so I guess I'm an equal opportunity picky eater.

You know, now that I think about it, I wonder if that poor chicken was able to walk. And if so, I want one of its drumsticks, fried. Yum!

Jim, step away from the ledge....LOL!

My preferred method is always grill and smoker, except in winter. It was a good alternative, and warm inside. I didn't think it was possible to do this, but I was wrong.

Tinner wanted a picture. Here you go!

FYI... Walmart sells them, but they’re less expensive. I wonder what that could mean [emoji848]

Ha Ha...probably 2nds too!! Ebay has them as well as Amazon. They look interesting and sounds like they are quicker than a reg crock pot.
