Re: Put camper away for winter

I winterized today as well. Couple more things to do tomorrow and we are done.

Have contacted the dealer for 2 things, the recall and the fading front cap. We shall see when they can do those things.

Yep, us too. Camping locally this weekend at Smithville Lake and the following week in Eminence, MO at Echo Bluff State Park. Colors in the Mark Twain NF should be peaking. Then it's time to winterize and do some maintenance. Man this year went fast.

Re: Put camper away for winter

Ours is in the driveway and emptied of those things that need to go in the house, safe from the cold and possible critters. I've fixed a couple nigglers, have to install the a/c covers and put some fresh Dicor seal on the nose and rear cap joints then in goes the pink stuff and it will then be pushed back the rest of the way to its winter's bed. If the weather is nice, I'll do a disc brake mod plus install new springs, but it is getting a bit too chilly.

Next season can't come soon enough for us

Re: Put camper away for winter

Not to be outdone, of course. We are presently in Bonners Ferry, Idaho and leaving this morning for Butte, Montana on the way to four days in West Yellowstone, Montana. And if anyone is wondering, yes, it is getting very difficult to find RV parks open. We will eventually be headed towards Rapid City and then Minneapolis, on to Rice Lake, Wisconsin and I can see motels possibly in our future. We are traveling with a couple in another rig who have never been to Yellowstone. Brenda and I have been many times, but it wouldn't hurt to remind us what your favorite part might be. Maybe PM me a note and help an old man out.....

Re: Put camper away for winter

To be honest, I would love to be out there still for a couple weeks but my wife is done. Since the beginning of May we have done 61 nights which is great for us. We had a great year and are already booking for next year so I can live with us being done but it is strange being home on a weekend.

If nothing else, I'll post a verbal how I did it thread with a parts list. I have a tendency to 'forget' to take photos when I have grunge to my elbow.

I guess you too have found out how soggy the 343RL suspension is as well as the fact it takes a country mile to stop - like every other good sized towable with electric drum brakes

Where in Harpers Ferry are you staying? I've heard the KOA there is a real tight fit.
