Ok, so this is my family's first trailer. We have nothing to put in it or outside of it yet.....lol my question to you is: what is the first thing I should buy and why? This should be fun to hear all the different opinions

LEDs for each interior fixture... If you plan on camping with no hookups.

The first thing you should buy is fuel for your tow vehicle and go camping. Once you have lived in your new trailer for a while you will see for yourself what things you need to make this trailer your home away from home. JM2¢ .... travel safely and enjoy, Hank

A bottle of wine to have after you have completed getting everything set up at your campsite.

Here's a *New Owner Checklist*... should give you some good ideas
http://keystonerv.org/forums/showthread.php?t=9915

And don't forget to pack your sense of humor & a pinch of patience Relax & have fun, it WILL take a few trips to get comfortable with all of the new things to learn.

Happy trails & enjoy your new Premier,
Terri, the Chevy co-pilot

....probably a pickup truck, so that you can take it home.

Seriously, like others have been telling you, take the time to enjoy, relax, and your list will grow slowly and surely.
Have some wine handy and enjoy. Congrats. Happy times ahead.

Everyone is so into wine, I myself can't stand the stuff but that is not the question. First off you need your chocks etc for set up, then you water and sewer hoses etc. a few fun cooking gadgets, your chairs to sit at the fire, your bedding and towel. Then bring a pad of paper and pen to make a list of things you want and need.

If your younger, comfortable chairs, party lights, an indoor outdoor rug, if your older, comfortable chairs, party lights, an indoor outdoor rug, and a folding step to get up on the damn stairs!

And if you're really old, forget the party lights. Bedtime is 9:00 pm.

I don't consider myself old at 31 but every time we go camping I find we are in bed or close to it at 9 pm. Must be from all that relaxation making me tired

A rechargeable vacuum such as a shark, brook and dust pan, comfy chairs and a big outdoor rug.

A dyson animal is an awesome purchase. Yes it is expensive but a great size and works very well.
